About The Event:

The Schomburg Center is proud to present our 4th annual First Fridays “Black Tie” Holiday Edition. This year, we invite you to become a Schomburg Angel by joining us for our exclusive, annual holiday fundraiser. All proceeds benefit Schomburg Center archives, exhibitions & programs.

This special event will celebrate the spirit of giving, and our 94-year history of preserving and presenting global black history and culture through our vast archival collections that are accessed across the world. Ring in the holiday season at this lavish cocktail affair that includes catered hors d’oeuvres and complimentary glasses of champagne from 6 pm to 7 pm.

Groove the night away with beats by DJ Poison Ivy, the evening’s special guest host, Musa Jackson and his Angels, and our MC Dhalimu from Dhali’s Closet. We’ll also have a special surprise performance by Yaz Band.

With our extended hours, guests are  invited to check out our current exhibitions Black Power!Syncretic Vibrations and InHarlem Firelei Báez: Joy out of Fire. You’ll also be able to sign up for a Schomburg membership, become a Schomburg volunteer, and visit the Schomburg Shop—while networking and dancing the night away!

Suggested Dress Code: Holiday Chic!

Complimentary Goody Bag As Supplies Last !

Tickets are non-refundable and go toward donations for the Schomburg Center.
